FAQs

Booking and Pre-Arrival

Do you have a cancellation/refund policy?

Yes, we do. Please read our booking terms and conditions for more information.

How do I register?

Registration is straightforward and takes only five minutes. Simply click the “Register Now” button on our website at www.impactprogrammes.com and follow the instructions. You will need to provide your contact details and pay a minimum 20% deposit by credit or debit card.

If you experience any difficulties, please contact us at impact@tonbridge-school.org

When is the final payment?

Ideally 8 weeks before arrival or 9 weeks after initial payment.

What are the English Level Requirements?

Students should have at least a B1 level on the CEFR scale or an IELTS score of 4.0.

Are you a boys only programme?

No, we are not a boys-only programme. IMPACT Programmes are open to all students, regardless of gender.

My child is 12 or younger, can they register?

We do not generally accept students under the age of 13. However, admission may be considered on an individual basis, taking into account your child’s maturity, English language proficiency, and chosen Pathway.

For further information, please contact us at impact@tonbridge-school.org, speak with a member of our team by calling +44 1732 304269, or schedule a meeting via our homepage.

Do I need a Visa or ETA?

Yes, depending on your nationality, you will require a Visa or Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to enter the United Kingdom. We will provide all necessary supporting documents to assist with your application.

Where do the students usually come from?

We warmly welcome students from both the United Kingdom and overseas.

Do you offer airport transfers?

Airport transfers to and from Gatwick Airport are included in the course fee, provided they take place between 9:00am and 5:00pm on designated transfer days.

If you are arriving at, or departing from, an alternative airport, we are happy to assist with travel arrangements. Please email impact@tonbridge-school.org with your flight details, and our team will help organise a suitable transfer.

Who will meet my child at the airport?

An official representative from IMPACT Programmes will be waiting in the arrivals area, immediately after your child has collected their luggage. They will be easily identifiable, wearing an IMPACT Programme polo shirt and holding a clearly marked IMPACT Programme sign.

For your reassurance, we will also provide you with the representative’s full name and photograph approximately two weeks before your child’s travel date.

When should I drop my child off for the summer programme?

Students should arrive on Monday 7 July or Monday 21 July, according to the dates of their enrolled programme. These are our official arrival days, and our staff will be on hand to welcome students and assist them as they settle in.

What should I pack?

Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a full packing list approximately 9–10 weeks before arrival. This will detail everything your child will need for the programme, including clothing, toiletries, and any optional items.

Do I need to wear a uniform at IMPACT Programmes?

No, there is no requirement to wear a uniform for IMPACT Programmes. We simply ask that you wear comfortable and practical clothing suitable for the activities you’ll be taking part in.

What is your mobile phone policy?

Students are welcome to bring mobile phones; however, they must not be used in communal areas or during challenges, growth workshops, university and business visits, or IMPACT skills sessions. Phones may be used during free time and leisure activities, but we encourage students to remain fully present and engaged with the programme and their peers.

During the Programme

Can I change my Applied Learning Pathway or Growth Workshops?

Yes, you may change your Pathway and Growth Workshops up to 48 hours before arrival, subject to availability and the payment of any additional fees. After this time, changes will be at the discretion of the IMPACT Programmes Director and Academic Director.

Who teaches the programme?

All our Applied Learning Pathways and Growth Workshops are designed and led by Tonbridge educators. Our IMPACT Skills sessions are delivered by a combination of internal and external instructors.

Do you cater to all dietary requirements?

Yes, we do. We are happy to accommodate all dietary requirements, including allergies, religious or cultural preferences, and lifestyle choices. Please inform us of your child’s needs in advance, and we will ensure they are well cared for.

How many students attend?

Each sprint will comprise approximately 50 students representing countries from around the world.

Do you have other activities on site after the academic timetable?

Yes. Students can enjoy a wide range of on-site activities using our excellent facilities, including the Tonbridge School Centre with its swimming pool, gym, and sports hall.

We also organise local activities, such as town visits, sports sessions, and cultural experiences in and around Tonbridge, providing students with the opportunity to explore the area and spend quality time with their peers.

Do you have any exams?

No, there are no exams during the IMPACT Programmes. Our focus is on interactive learning, personal development, and real-world skills, rather than formal testing.

What accommodation will my child stay in?

Students will stay in one of our on-site boarding houses, which offer a variety of accommodation options, including single, double, and quad rooms.

Will my child receive a certificate?

Of course. On the final day of the programme, we host a special awards ceremony where each student receives a certificate of participation and achievement.

Students will also be given a personalised report from their academic teacher, highlighting their progress, strengths, and contributions throughout the course.

Do you have a cash machine on campus?

No, there is no cash machine on campus. We operate a cashless campus, and students may pay for any additional items from the shop using a credit, debit, or pre-paid card.
