Extend Robotics is a UK-based technology company developing advanced robotics systems powered by artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
Focused on making complex robotics accessible, the company enables users to remotely operate and train robots across industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, energy, and space.
Founded by Dr Chang Liu as a spin-out from Imperial College London, the company has successfully translated academic innovation into a scalable commercial venture, securing a £150,000 investment offer from entrepreneur Peter Jones following a pitch on Dragons’ Den.
This milestone highlights both the market potential of its virtual reality robotics platform and the team’s ability to communicate a clear vision, one centred on making robotics accessible, practical, and impactful across industries such as healthcare, industry and hospitality.
Through this partnership, Extend Robotics supports the programme by bringing real-world expertise in robotics and AI, giving students insight into how these technologies are being applied in industry today. Their involvement helps bridge the gap between emerging technology and practical application.
Students gain exposure to cutting-edge innovation, developing an understanding of how robotics and AI are shaping future careers and industries, while building confidence in engaging with advanced technologies.
Perfect Ted
Sponsoring our InnovationX – Future Founders sprint
Theme: Entrepreneurship, Start-Ups, and AI Innovation
This Hackathon exposes students to the world of entrepreneurship, start-up culture and forward-thinking innovation. Marisa and Teddie, the co-founders of Perfect Ted, The UK’s No. 1 Matcha Brand, gained significant traction after its appearance on Dragon’s Den, where it received investments from Steven Bartlett and Peter Jones.
Perfect Ted co-founders will deliver a keynote address exploring the future of entrepreneurship, the opportunities emerging from new technologies, and the ways in which young innovators can turn ideas into action. Following the keynote, students will be presented with a real-world business challenge, inspiring them to apply entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, and collaboration to design innovative solutions.
Throughout the day, the co-founders will mentor the teams, offering specialist insights and practical guidance to help refine their ideas. The experience provides students with a unique opportunity to connect with leading professionals and to develop the entrepreneurial mindset essential for success in a rapidly evolving global economy.
